30th Anniversary Race Night

An informal Charter race night - that describes the Club's 30th anniversary celebration held on 30 March 2011 at Ratho Park Golf Club. Very well organised by Derek, Rodger, Jim and President John, it was a successful and enjoyable evening for members and their guests.

Four races (silly horse names / real UK races) preceded the meal (well done, Ratho Park) and four races followed. Betting on the horses was 'pure lottery' yet great shouts of joy and despair were heard each time the horses flashed past the finishing post. The 'betting' was handled superbly by Suzy, Frances, Sandra D and Alice.

A celebration cake, produced by Sandra T, was on show before being sliced and enjoyed with coffee after the meal. The evening was primarily a fun event, rather than fundraising, but did raise a meaningful contribution to 'End Polio Now'.

DG Alan formally recognised the informal charter event and presented our President with R.I.'s Charter Certificate acknowledging our thirty years. In recognition of the Club's support for his year and for his conference he then presented commemorative badges to all members and to guests Kate and Alan.

A really enjoyable event - roll on our 35 years celebration........
