Dear Gary, Liz and Barbara
We had a date booked for our Quadrangular weekend in early October and of
course, it was all cancelled due to Covid, however, we decided to keep the Hog
Roast booked at Lympne Castle so that we could have a social evening. The venue
can take up to 100 guests and we wondered whether your clubs would like to join
us, especially as we have not socialised for quite some time. Its a big space
and there is always the option of outside. It’s not a sit down meal but an opportunity
to wander around, eat the hog (not me as a veggie but I’m assuming a veggie
option) and just generally enjoy some extremely missed fellowship with other
Rotarians and partners.
Would your clubs like to use 20 places each? It’s not a fundraiser, so the cost
is £20 per person for the meal and the venue. I’m hoping we can add to the
evening by booking some entertainment of some sort, and I’m hoping that Shepway
Brass might come up trumps as we bought their instruments a few years ago. In
the middle of Lockdown we had to make a decision and I’m really glad we did as
it’s time we remembered what Rotary Fellowship is all about.
Andrew Beggs is organising the bookings for the Hog Roast on Friday
October 8th at Lympne Castle. He can be contacted on Andrew.beggs@folkestonerotary.org or
on 07790031199.
Terry Cooke-Davies will be collecting the money, (£20 per person) but first
thing is to book a place.
I’m hoping that we will all enjoy a social evening in beautiful surroundings,
without it being a fundraiser and we can remember what the fellowship bit of
Rotary is all about.
Kate
