Welcome to the Wessex Rotary Shoebox Scheme. Website
Sturminster Newton Rotary Club is proud too be part of the Shoebox scheme and especially pleased by the support we receive from all of the local schools - 295 Shoeboxes were sent last year - collections end this week on Friday 31st October
The Wessex Rotary Shoebox Scheme collects and sends shoeboxes filled with gifts to disadvantaged children in Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, and Ukraine (via Poland), ensuring they receive them in time for Christmas. These special packages are prepared using specific card boxes provided by Wessex Rotary, and there are guidelines available in the form of a leaflet and a video that explain how to assemble and fill the boxes.
The scheme categorises the contents of the boxes based on the gender and age of the child recipient. For those interested in contributing, it’s important to deliver the shoeboxes by 31st October to ensure timely distribution from the warehouse in early November.
This year, over 20,000 boxes were sent from their warehouse in Boscombe, spreading joy among children, including refugees from Ukraine in Poland.
