We had an inspiring and entertaining talk from Charlotte Yemm (nee Atkinson), a local girl who became the first woman to captain a UK Royal Navy Warship.
The local scouts gave us a very interesting talk from to inform us about the scout hut situation and any areas we might be able to help.
We have donated 2 sets of mental wellbeing books (key stage 1 and 2) to each of the local primary schools, supplied by a local book shop in conjunction with Usborne books.
We've have had a talk from Courtenay Hitchcock on the digital Blackmore Vale and the role of social media in news and communication. We also have a progressive dinner planned and a Boules and BBQ night.
Rotary is a global organisation open to men and women of all ages, with over a million members, which contributes to communities through service and fellowship. So, if you are looking for a way to serve your community and the world at large, or just want to meet some new people why not try out Sturminster Newton Rotary Club. The club meets twice a month, usually one business and social and one purely social meeting, with some additional social events.
