Club President Steve Knight was invited to Newport Cricket Club to present a cheque for £4,000 to the charity IOW Pony Driving for the Disabled.
Robert Young (pictured right) visited Shanklin Rotary Club recently and gave a presentation on the charity’s activities and its ambition to acquire an additional carriage.
Robert, a former member of Shanklin Rotary Club, received the cheque along with his wife, Sheila (pictured centre) from Steve Knight (pictured left).
The original plan was to commission the building of a bespoke carriage from a specialist coach builder, but spiralling prices demanded a different approach and a previously-owned carriage was sourced, in Truro, Cornwall and has been purchased for £5,500. (see below)
