Sandown Rotary new Paul Harris Fellowship awards

Surprise awards to 3 new Paul Harris Fellows

Sandown Rotary Christmas 2022 Celebration - presentation of Paul Harris Fellowship Awards

Rotary was founded in 1905 by American Paul Harris, as a club for people from different vocations to meet regularly in friendship and fellowship.

As further clubs were formed, it soon became clear that all members should have a common aim, being to make positive and lasting changes in society both locally & internationally.

This award, named after the founder,  is recognised throughout the Rotary International world (some 218 countries), and is presented to Rotarians for their "tangible and significant assistance given in furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among the people of the world".

At the Christmas celebration of Sandown Rotary Club, much to their surprise,  both Maggie & Ron Freemantle were presented by the club President Mrs Vanessa Churchman, with a "Paul Harris Fellow" award.

Shortly after Christmas, President Vanessa Churchman also had the pleasure of making another Paul Harris Fellowship award to Paul Brading.
