Meteorological Spring started 1st March and Brockenhurst celebrated with a barn dance to blow away the gloomy weather. 90 dancers assembled at the village hall for the event organised by New Forest Rotary in conjunction with Heartbeat. The Woodsiders, ceilidh and barn dance band, provided the music and Amanda, their very experienced caller, made sure everyone knew what to do. Over 70 villages from the various energetic activity groups were joined by dancers from further afar who had obtained tickets through the Heartbeat website. Local traders Streets and Pot-Pourri helped with the publicity abd ticket sales and Rainbow Fish shop provided the sustenance. A very happy community event and even if there was a brief flurry of snow outside the temperature inside soared as the hall was filled to capacity with dancers. The event also raised £1,000 for Heartbeat for their Psychological Support Cardiac Youth Worker project at Southampton Hospital.

We assisted the Totton Spiritualist Church in their project to give an Easter Egg to all children being supported through the Churches food bank. Also additional food and clothing for the Food Bank itself.
