Chris and Brian Edwards attended Beacon View Primary School on 19th August, for a Community Picnic and Open Day on the playing field, and this was the first time that they had used the clay oven that we helped to fund. They were warmly received, and shown round the gardens and the Mud Kitchen. Vegetables and fruit grown by the children were free for any family to take away, and also a large number of second hand school uniforms items available at no cost. They identified several items which they were eager to obtain, including water butts, hand gardening tools and containers for a planned sand activity area. If any members have small items which they would like to donate, Chris could take them to the school. We were able to take photos of the gardens and pizza oven before the children started cooking.
