What an amazing achievement for Ladies College student Samantha Browning at the Rotary Cluster Final (Semi Final) at the Cornwallis Academy in Maidstone in Kent, who was placed third overall.
Samantha wowed the judges with her ‘pan-fried freshly caught Bream, with leek infused Guernsey seaweed salt mash, garnished with homemade fish sauce, carrots, parsnip crisps and samphire grass, followed by warm rhubarb and apple crumble with golden oat topping, served with homemade custard’. (Sounds delicious).
Samantha received really positive feedback from the judges and the winner overall won by 1 point, so it was a very close competition.
Well done Samantha, you have been the highest Guernsey competitor in the Young Chef competition, and you should be extremely proud of your achievement.
Our thanks to David Raines who represented The Rotary Club of Guernsey.
We are now looking forward to the competition in 2027.
