The Rotary Club of Guernsey celebrated our 103rd Charter at the St Pierre Park hotel with a gala dinner on Saturday 7th March 2026.
The Club was honoured with local dignitaries, His Excellency Sir Richard Cripwell Lt Governor, Sir Richard McMahon Bailiff, Jessica Roland Deputy Bailiff, Rotary District Governor Richard Burnett, President of Rotary Guernesiais & Rotary Club of Alderney were all in attendance. It was great to have representatives from Inner Wheel and Friends of Guernsey too.
President Carla opened the evening with a summary of her year in office, which set the scene for the evening. Guests enjoyed a three-course meal & coffee, with Rotarian Simon Wood keeping the event to time as Toastmaster.
Deputy Bailiff Jessica Roland spoke of her time as Deputy Bailiff & the first female in this historic post. A very interesting speech after which Rotarian Wayne Bulpitt proposed the vote of thanks.
District Governor Richard Burnett gave a short speech congratulating the local clubs on their achievements and the evenings events.
President Carla, assisted by the District Governor presented a number of awards.
Jocelyn Dorey received a bouquet for her many years of service to the Tree of Joy parcels initiative.
Rotarian Paul Watts received the Alex Forty award for Service above Self for his many years as Christmas parcels coordinator, Autism Winter Wonderland & vehicle logistics for the Saffery Rotary walk.
The Geoff Norman Community Service award was presented to the Channel Islands Co-op, collected by Guernsey Chairman Jon Bond for their continued sponsorship of our Young Chef Competition & provision of the Rotary Christmas food parcels.
Finally Rotarian David Parish was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship for services to Rotary & the Club over a number of years.
The evening was a great success & truly marked this important date in the club's history.
