Locally registered charities and non-profit organisations across the Bailiwick are invited to apply for funding from the 2026 Saffery Rotary Walk.
Following another record-breaking year in 2025 – raising over £100,000 for 25 local causes – the Walk team are now seeking applications for 2026 support.
The 2025 Walk brought together more than 1,200 walkers on the island’s 39-mile coastal route, supported by hundreds of volunteers and sponsors.
Rotarian Jannine Birtwistle, the Walks Charity Coordinator, said “Applications are now welcome from all registered charities or non-profit organisations based anywhere in the Bailiwick. Thanks to the continued support of our main sponsor, Saffery Trust, and our other supporters, every penny our walkers raise is available for distribution to selected local causes.”
Lisa Vizia, Director at Saffery Trust Director, added “The Saffery Rotary Walk is about more than fundraising - it’s about community pride. Every walker, volunteer, and sponsor plays a part in improving life on our islands, and it’s inspiring to see how funds turn into projects that make a visible difference.”
2025 beneficiaries included:
• Les Bourgs Hospice - funding an electric reclining hospital armchair
• Alderney Duke of Edinburgh Award – five lightweight backpacking tents
• Guernsey Swimming Club – training and accreditation for five volunteer teachers
• UnLtd at the Ron Short Centre - upgrading the Enabling Technology Suite to help people access assistive technology
• Youth Commission for Guernsey and Alderney – family kits to support conversations with children about a cancer diagnosis
How to apply: Applications are open to all Guernsey registered charities and non-profits in the Bailiwick whose work directly benefits the local community. Full details and application form are available at www.safferyrotarywalk.org.gg/apply-now-for-2026-walk-funds.
• Application deadline: Sunday 30th November 2025
• Successful applicants announced early 2026
• Event date: Saturday 6th June 2026
