At our evening meeting on the 30th July, we were delighted to welcome President Jan Banks and 3 members of the Rotary Club of Christchurch, Rita Rogers, June Matthews and Vincent Banks who were visiting Guernsey for the first time.
As well as welcoming them to our Club and exchanging banners, President Carla organised for them to go on a guided walk of St Peter Port and a round island tour.
Highlights of the drive included stunning sandy beaches, rocky headlands, Guernsey cows, crab sandwiches and Guernsey ice cream at Portelet, the Little Chapel and those little ruettes tranquilles! They certainly experienced a taste of Guernsey.
They were very interested in the Victor Hugo Centre following the talk by Larry Malčić and are looking forward to coming back to visit when the Centre is open.
Carla and Bernard also entertained President Jan and her husband for an evening meal at a local restaurant.
