Rev Justin Taylor
Minister, St Andrew’s in the Grange, Church of Scotland (Guernsey)
Rev Justin Taylor is the minister of St Andrew’s in the Grange, the Church of Scotland congregation in Guernsey. Originally from South Africa, Justin has a background in theology and church history, with degrees from the University of Pretoria and the University of Edinburgh. His academic work focused on the role of the church in responding to injustice, particularly during the Apartheid era.
Before moving to Guernsey, Justin served as a parish minister in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. He has a particular interest in how faith communities can serve as active partners in wider community life, especially in areas such as mental health, inclusion, and social wellbeing. He is currently studying counselling and is committed to exploring how spiritual care can support resilience and human flourishing. Justin also serves as a chaplain at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.
He is married to Lesley, and they have three children. Outside of ministry, he enjoys running, playing cricket, and exploring Guernsey’s coastline.
At this Rotary event, Justin will speak about what the Saffery Rotary Walk taught him about himself, and how it deepened his vision for community engagement. Drawing on that experience, he will reflect on the importance of walking together, physically and metaphorically, in building stronger, more compassionate communities.
