Peter Burkhardt will shine a light on the life of his grandfather, Colonel Valentine Burkhardt who served 44 years in the Army and was present at the Armistice Meeting and maintained a diary which gives a blow by blow account of the developing agreement and signing which Peter will share.
In addition, he spoke two Chinese languages, wrote 3 Volumes of Chinese Creeds & Customs, was an authority on butterflies and Chinese stamps, as well as being a gifted artist.
Colonel Burkhardt was presented with his D.S.O. in the field in Northern France by King George V.
