EVENT POSTPONED
ROTARY / INNER WHEEL FUNDRAISER – 16 JANUARY
Dear fellow club members,
We hope that you had a happy time over Christmas, avoided the virus and took advantage of the relative freedoms allowed to us.
It is reassuring that the CCA continue to allow us, at least for the time being, freedom to judge for ourselves the relative wisdom of meeting with family and friends. And it is in that spirit that we have judged whether our proposed Club lunch party should be held as planned on 16 January.
After much thought, it seems to us that a party of this size (last year 70 of us enjoyed the event!) held in the constraints of a single home whilst the ‘Omicron Wave’ has not yet run its course falls outside what is envisaged by Public Health as a reasonable and proportionate level of ‘mixing’.
With much sadness we have therefore decided to defer the event to another day when we can all come together in confidence that we are acting with consideration of each others’ wellbeing.
We appreciate that things may change over the next 2 weeks, but by making this decision now, members will be relieved of the pressure of making their own finely balanced judgement as to whether to attend. More positively, with the day free in our diaries, members have every opportunity make alternative arrangements to spend the day in more measured numbers with friends or family.
As ever, we wish you all a very Happy New Year and hope that 2022 soon brings us a better environment for us all to return to a level of social interaction that forms the bedrock of our two clubs.
With Best Wishes,
Simon & Amanda
