The first social out evening of the new President's year, The evacuation, occupation,
liberation, potato peel pie walk!
The walk was taken by Gill Girard a
gold accredited tour guide in the island and one of our very own as a member of
our inner wheel club.
The walk took us through the town while Gill
explained the events on the day of the invasion and the following occupation
along with the effects of the evacuation of the children, plus many other pieces
of local history. All this was done with a great enthusiasm and we cannot thank
Gill enough for taking time out of her busy schedule to do this walk for
us.
The evening finished with an excellent meal at Village East.
