The Guernsey heat of Youth Speaks 2018 saw the Island Schools competing for the chance to represent Guernsey in a National Rotary competition.
The adjudicator panel made up of Jessica Rowland, Jenny Tasker and Jerry Girard judged the six competing teams.
Elizabeth College scooped the top spot and senior category with three student Adam Le Poidevin, Ed Miller and Jack Le Tissier with their speech entitled Trusting the Terminator about AI.
The Grammar School team of Ivy Paris-Smith, Aimee Snoding and Georgia Clarke with their speak on The Hakuna Matata Concept about not working took the intermediate category.

Best Chairperson – Seb Sheppard, La Mare de Carteret High Schools
Best Speaker – Jess Birch, La Mare de Carteret High Schools
Best Vote of thanks - Leah Taylor, La Mare de Carteret High Schools
The Elizabeth College team will now progress to the District round and represent Guernsey on the 10th March 2018.
