We were pleased th District Governor Chris Slocock was able to visit us today to formally present the Service Awards for a Polio-Free World to Paul and Jannine Birtwistle.
As members know Paul and Jannine work tirelessly for the campaign to eradicate Polio on behalf of our Clubs in Guernsey, Regionally, and Internationally and Chris had the pleasure of presenting the Regional Award for outstanding service to Paul and the International Award to Jannine.
These are great accolades and our congratulations go to them for this well deserved recognition.
A video of the presentations is below.
Chris was accompanied by his wife Yayu, also a Rotarian.
Yayu is the author of a book on Indonesian Cooking which costs £10 and from the
proceeds £5 is paid to End Polio. She was successful in selling copies at lunch
and a small supply has been left with us for those members who may still wish to
purchase a copy.
more In recognition of his work for both the Club and the wider community Geoff Norman was appointed an Honorary Member.
back Now and again it is a pleasure to record awards given to individual members of the Rotary Club of Guernsey for services to the Club and the wider community.
