We were all delighted to have been able to welcome His Excellency and Lady Corder to lunch and to have had the opportunity of being able to introduce them to our Club and a number of our key activities.
My special thanks to members for giving them such a warm and enthusiastic welcome and in particular to Alan our doorman for the day, plus Nathan, Andy and Steve for their light hearted overviews of Youth Opportunities, Community Services and Foundation projects. Perhaps Andy has now set the scene for us to appear in Green Elf's outfits for Tree of Joy as we hoist H.E. up the mast!
I hope that our guests were suitably impressed with the range of activities that we undertake and indeed with the fellowship that was so clearly demonstrated and evident.
As we heard from H.E. as he shared their experiences of life in Guernsey to date we can be justifiably proud of the life we enjoy on island and as we work hard to put so much back into the community. In terms of future support Sir Ian and Lady Corder are very keen to help in any way that they can which may be by shining a spotlight on our activities particularly in terms of media coverage and also creating the conditions to support activities at Government House such as the forthcoming planting of Crocus corms in the Grounds. A great outcome from a very enjoyable occasion.
