Under clear blue skies and soaring temperatures the Handover Bowls picnic took place on Sunday 17th July at the home of Terry Andrew who kindly hosted the occasion again. Many thanks To Terry for arranging such perfect weather and playing conditions.
A most enjoyable afternoon was spent on the green with spectators taking advantage of the limited shade whenever they could.
John Hollis presented Brian Acton with the chain of office and the occasion was also marked by the cutting of a cake and a donation being made to Arthur Leadbeater to add to the funds being raised by him following the recent Reversathon for the benefit of local charities and Autism Guernsey.
The final which comprised of Nigel Dorey and partner Sue Whalley plus Art Leadbetter and partner Pauline Hogg was a close match but Art and Pauline won the day showing some excellent playing skills.
A great afternoon was had by all.
