Four members of the club (Nigel Dorey (President), Simon Howitt, Mike Le Conte and John Nettleton) and partners accepted an invitation from the Lihou Charitable Trust to an open day and fundraiser. The invitation was as a thank you to the club for our support of the Trust and specifically on this occasion for our sponsorship of a bed.
The organisers could not have hoped for a better day, if there were any moans it was that it was too hot. With the tide in its present state we had about 3 hours to relax on the island, view the house, enjoy some tea and cakes and the main event "duck racing".
Unfortunately although both John Nettleton and myself both had ducks in the semi final we (our ducks) failed to get into the final. It was a fabulous afternoon capped with a welcome and thank you speech from the Bailiff Richard Collas.
