The Saffery Rotary Walk, organised jointly by the Rotary Guernsey and Rotary Guernesiais, is one of the island's best-known community fundraising events.
More than 1,000 walkers took part in the 2026 Walk, raising over £100,000 for local causes. Sixteen charities and non-profit organisations benefited from funding for a wide range of projects supporting the Bailiwick community.
With preparations now underway for the next Walk on Saturday 12 June 2027, the organisers are encouraging local organisations to put forward projects that could benefit from funding.
Applications are open to charities and non-profit organisations registered on the Guernsey Charities Register. Funding is available for specific, achievable projects with clear, measurable outcomes, rather than general running costs.
Jannine Birtwistle, the Walk's Charity Coordinator and a member of Rotary Guernsey, said: "We are not looking for the biggest names or the slickest forms. We are looking for a clear project, something we can point to afterwards and say that the Walk helped make that happen. Every single application we receive is carefully considered."
Thanks to the continued generosity of main sponsor Saffery Trust and other supporters, the costs of staging the Walk are covered, allowing every penny raised by walkers to be distributed to local causes.
Full details, eligibility criteria and application forms are available on the Saffery Rotary Walk website.
