Guernsey Mind Sunrise Walk of Hope (21 June 2026)

President Carol’s chosen charity for her year is Guernsey Mind and the Club will be helping to raise funds for that charity during Carol’s term as President.

In June, the Guernsey Mind Sunrise Walk of Hope, sponsored by Gower, was the first event of our year, and President Carol took part in the walk from Vale Castle to the Bathing Pools, starting at 4 a.m. This special event raises awareness and support for the vital work that Guernsey Mind does in suicide prevention and care. A total of £270 was raised by Inner Wheel in sponsorship for the charity.  Jo Cottell will be coming to talk to us in the Autumn.

Other Guernsey Mind fund-raising events will be a Harvest Lunch and produce sale to be held at Jilly Morgan’s house. A fun auction of unwanted Christmas presents, Jigsaw race afternoon and preloved jigsaw swop, our bi annual Fashion Show Big Raffle and Spring Flower demonstration where the arrangements will be raffled afterwards.

All this, together with some fun events and our usual Summer and Christmas social lunches. Not forgetting our guest speakers in October and November and International service events during the year.

In February 2027 we will celebrate our 80th Charter with family, friends and guests at Les Cotils with a Sunday lunch.
