Summer Sporting Social event held at Oatlands Mini Golf (Friday 26 June 2026).
What a glorious evening for a round of mini golf & friendship?
Oatlands hosted us with the whole mini golf course to ourselves. 22 members took part, with teams selected by the Social chair starting off in a shot gun start on holes, 1,3, 6 9, 12 & 15. With the established planting on the course it was difficult to keep track of teams at times.
It was good to see new member Robert Lough & his wife Janice at the event. A good time was had by all with some taking the event more seriously than others.
Pauline Marquis had returned the Dartington tankard we had awarded her last year for her skittles win, so it was proposed to award this glass tankard donated by the Barnstaple Rotary club as the annual summer sporting trophy.
This year the winner was Wayne Bulpitt with an impressive score of 53. He obviously took it seriously.
After the golf we retired to the courtyard at Oaty & Joeys for our food. The staff did us proud with their service & the weather made it a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
President Carla thanked everyone for attending her last social event of her presidential year and said how much she had enjoyed her presidency. So now on to the new Rotary year.
