Join us as we welcome Colin Le Ray, Director of Guernsey Counselling Service (GCS).
GCS provides professional counselling to people across Guernsey who are experiencing difficult times, ensuring that support is available regardless of an individual’s financial circumstances or background. Its mission is to bring hope, help people recognise their own worth, and empower them to take positive steps towards reaching their full potential.
During his talk, Colin will explain how the charity has responded to the significant challenges of recent years. Following the pandemic, demand for counselling services increased dramatically while volunteer numbers declined, requiring GCS to rethink and adapt its operating model.
He will share how the organisation successfully managed this transition and continues to provide an essential community service without government funding.
According to their website https://www.empathy.org.gg, GCS aims to bring hope to all those in the community, who are going through a difficult time, to enable them to appreciate their value as an individual and a person of worth, to help them to take responsibility for their own lives and to reach their full potential.
