Visit to Houses of Parliament

We have a good social programme of activities to complement our service projects. Some, but not all, are listed on our Future Meetings and Events page.

One meeting a month will have a speaker, normally external, and recent topics have covered The Gunpowder Plot, the Development of Concorde and a presentation (with tasting) by a local Gin producer. When there are 5 Thursdays in a month we have a meeting with in-house entertainment; versions of Call My Bluff, Desert Island Discs and Would I Lie To You have all proven very popular.

We have regular skittles and boules matches against other local Rotary clubs while several of our members are keen golfers, cyclists or bowls players.

Visits and outings are also arranged. In 2023 a large group visited The Houses of Parliament and were hosted for part of that day by our then MP, Liam Fox. In March 2025 we are having a weekend away at the RNLI hotel in Poole.
