Please read carefully the information below.
Specific for runners: We emphasise that the 10K and 20K routes are CROSS COUNTRY, OFF ROAD. They follow footpaths which are often grass or dirt, may be wet underfoot and including a few reasonably steep inclines/declines. There are gates and stiles along the way. Whilst routes are signposted, participants may need to refer to maps from time to time, with a degree of SELF NAVIGATION.
General notes: Participants will be provided with maps and instructions and an emergency telephone number to call in case of difficulties. These should be studied and followed. Each of the routes will have been tested and walked by a number of volunteers in advance of the day.
We strongly advise each party (an individual or group of participants) to bring a fully charged mobile phone.
Children: All children under 16 years of age should be accompanied by an adult.
Dogs: We have no objection to participants walking with dogs as long as they are kept under control so that they do not inconvenience other walkers, runners, the general public or any livestock.
Please note that:Rotary Nailsea and Backwell act as facilitators. We organise the whole event, providing advance publicity, registration forms (online or offline), pro forma downloadable sponsorship forms (if required), the opportunity to set-up online individual sponsorship forms, maps and route instructions to guide the participants, and marshalls (where deemed appropriate). Everyone who completes a Walk or Run will receive a certificate of achievement.
