Bookstalls and Handbag Sales

3 Bookstalls in 2024 were in March, June and July with our final sale on 19th October. A further 4 sales are planned for 2025 with dates to be announced.
Handbag stalls are now being organised by Nailsea District Leg Club.

Bookstall Sales and Handbag Sales

Bookstalls

We started to run bookstall sales to raise funds for charity in 1997. In addition to books it was also suggested that jigsaws should be included to see if there were any takers and indeed this has proved to be quite popular.

We usually run four bookstalls a year with several hundred paperback books on display. Sadly hardbacks, no matter that the vast majority are in pristine condition, have very little appeal so we do not generally stock them other than a few cookery books and some biographies. We also have quite a few children's books and, to encourage literacy, will happily give a free book to any child and accept a donation for additional children's books.

Funds raised over the years now amount to many thousands of pounds, all of which has been used for charitable or local community purposes.

Handbags

For several years we also ran handbag sales stalls in Nailsea Town Centre when we always had a good quality stock of pre-used bargains. Being unable to continue the handbag stalls we were delighted that Nailsea District Leg Club took our remaining stock and is now organising Handbag Stalls.
