Marlborough young people receive RYLA Awards
Marlborough and District Rotary Club strongly support The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) which is one of the most successful youth programmes run by Rotary Clubs in many parts the world. The intensive training programme, held at the Dean Field Studies Centre, in the heart of Forest of Dean, is aimed at helping selected young people to develop the skills which they will require as future leaders.

Liam Steel and Molly Reid (Marlborough and District Rotary Club)
This year, Marlborough and District Rotary Club, sponsored two participants for RYLA, Liam Steele and Molly Reid. Both were presented with their certificates of achievement, on Sunday 29th July. Marlborough participants were among a group of 40 young men and women, in the 16-18 years age group, who all came from Rotary District 1100.
Our five-night, six-day Rotary District RYLA course is planned around a series of physical challenges, discussions and debates. The fun packed programme is especially designed to help improve leadership, communication skills, self-confidence and self-esteem. Each session is followed by tutorials when participants are encouraged to speak freely about their personal achievements and objectives.
In addition, participants planned a fundraising project in the nearby town for three of their chosen charities. The project raised in excess of
