Thank you for your continued support and interest in our recent work on behalf of the Ukrainian Freedom Company, Hereford and Rotary Clubs in Malvern and Whitchurch, and all the direct donors who have made this possible over the last few months.

Here is a brief update to keep you abreast of our progress, recent events, and items of interest:

  • 1. Humanitarian Trip to Ukraine (August)
This trip involved delivering medical, civilian, and military-related aid to groups in both Western and Eastern Ukraine. We successfully travelled 4,600 miles to deliver medical aid, donated by the Ukraine Freedom Company, to the Pidvolochysk rehabilitation hospital near Ternopil. The following items were delivered: Electric wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and orthopaedic equipment;   these are essential items supporting the treatment and healing of wounded soldiers as they regain their health and mobility following catastrophic injuries.  We also visited the Arey Training Company in eastern Ukraine to deliver Military related supplies from the UFC, Hereford including heating appliances, comfort boxes, medical examination tables and a huge 86" LCD TV which was greatly received and quickly installed as a teaching aid for recruits.
  • 2. Newavx Project at Pidvolochysk
This project continues to deliver excellent results. During our recent trip, we delivered an additional Newavx unit (sponsored by Samantha Mellows) to the Pidvolochysk Hospital Orthopaedic department via Francesca Fox’s company, Newavx. This will continue to strengthen the Newavx project's capabilities at Pidvolochysk Hospital and double its capacity to improve both physical and psychological healing for military and civilian patients, including children.
  • 3. Psychological Research into Newavx Technology
This research test ( report attached), led by Dr Evgeniia Igrunova, was conducted at the Pidvolochysk Hospital Orthopaedic department over a three-week period earlier in 2026. It sought to measure the effects of the Newavx treatment programme on the psychological well-being of both military and civilian patients. Initial results confirm a positive range of benefits following treatment (as evidenced in the report).

These promising results have led to a collaborative proposal, discussed with Pidvolochysk Hospital staff, Dr Denis Klim, and Deputy Director Oksana Kapelusov—to extend this analysis with a larger, broader study. We are currently awaiting further funding to get this essential stage off the ground. This expanded research report will help establish the medical credibility of the Newavx treatment programme and expand its professional use across other Western Ukrainian institutions.

  • 4. GetMet Device Progress
During a meeting with surgeon Dr Vasily Mahovsky at Ternopil Hospital, he reported that the use of our previously donated GetMet device has greatly assisted surgical teams in locating shrapnel in injured soldiers' bodies. With a scalpel in one hand and the GetMet device in the other, surgeons can find shrapnel pieces more easily without always having to resort to regular scanning technologies. A second GetMet device would allow more surgeons to utilize this technology, drastically saving time, lowering the number of subsequent operations, and reducing the prolonged pain felt by soldiers.
  • 5.  Babymilk and childrens supplies to Gift of Life charity

Due to costs and lack of funding we were unable to deliver any babymilk or nappies during this recent trip.  Despite the critical necessity for this vital product across Ukraine, we could only meet with the Director of Mothers and babies, Larisa, at the Womens refuge in Ternopil.  She outlined very clearly that, as the pressure of attack falls increasingly on Eastern cities and areas of Ukraine,  the pressure causes more mothers and families to move to the safer Western region.  The stress caused to new mothers continued to be immense and failure to breastfeed, due to these anxieties, meant babies not making healthy weight gains.  The UK baby milk supply previously delivered to Gift of Life has shown how effective it is at addressing this life threatening condition.  We made it clear we would continue to help where we can and increase our efforts to provide as much as possible in the winter period.

How You Can Help Next

To build on this incredible momentum, we are launching our next phase of fundraising. Your continued generosity will directly fund:

  • A second GetMet device to help more surgical teams locate shrapnel faster.
  • The expanded psychological research study at Pidvolochysk Hospital to scientifically validate and scale the Newavx treatment.
  • Ongoing transport and logistics for our next aid delivery trip in late October/November.
  • The purchase of additional babymilk for the Mothers of the Ternopil region
