Last month a team of passionate and cheery Hereford City Rotary Club members donned their wellies and spent a productive morning at Hereford Community Farm, assisting them to clear and prepare their new premises at Grafton Lane in Hereford.
As the saying goes 'many hands make light work' and after a morning of hard graft a long forgotten tarmac area was cleared of brambles and weeds, ready to be made into a new visitor parking area. After cleaning the drains out too, the members were rewarded with some wonderful refreshments and a heap of gratitude from the HCF team for all their hard work.
Exciting times are ahead as the farm are planning to relocate their much loved animals to their new location very soon. Additionally the new classrooms will be completed and will welcome those with learning difficulties, who will benefit greatly from the wonderful courses on offer which will enhance their quality of life and assist them to lead full and purposeful lives with their communities.
A recent fundraising walk by members also raised over £1000 for the work of the farm, a cause which is very dear to the club’s heart.
As this fantastic partnership continues to flourish we look forward to returning to the farm again for another day of volunteering and fun.
