Our hard working International team members here at Hereford City Rotary Club are always looking at ways we can alleviate hardship and poverty across the world.
So they were absolutely thrilled recently to be able to supply two electricity generator sets to Ukraine. These essential appliances will make a substantial difference to those managing the difficulties and disadvantages of living in a war zone. Where very often electricity stations are key targets for destruction, causing significant disruption and hardship for communities.
These generators will not only help communities to maintain telephone contact with their family and friends, they can also provide heat during the winter, Ukraine gets extremely cold, and will allow residents the ability to access hot drinks and food.
This activity is part of a wider Rotary initiative, our fabulous neighbours at Newent & District Rotary Club have already shipped no less than ninety generator sets to Ukraine to date and we thank them for their help, guidance and support which has allowed us to follow in their footsteps.
