We recently teamed up with Sainsbury's in Hereford to collect donations for the Hereford Food Bank and we were absolutely astounded at the wonderful generosity of their shoppers.
The Hereford City Rotary Team were thrilled to see multiple trollies filled by eager shoppers keen to support their local foodbank.
Shoppers were given a comprehensive list of what the foodbank needed and kindly dropped their contributions into our trolley as they left.
The Hereford Food Bank has been functioning since 2008, and is now a registered charity: No. 1170826
It operates with a small group of dedicated volunteers and three part-time officers. Most of the food supplied is donated by local people - both individuals and businesses.
They welcome all gifts of food or donations and always need: Tinned meat (stews, casseroles, ham), Tinned fish, Tinned vegetables, Smash, Small bags of sugar, Tinned fruit, Rice pudding, Custard, Small jars of Coffee, Toothbrushes, Soap, Toilet rolls & Cleaning products.
They are also happy to take on new volunteers to work in the Food Bank, or to help with collections or fund raising. Please contact stas@herefordfoodbank.co.uk for further information.
