Our aim is to advance world understanding, peace and goodwill through humanitarian, educational and disaster relief programmes including: -

Eradicating Polio campaign in association with World Health Organisation and Bill & Linda Gates Foundation. Rotary spearheaded the campaign in 1985 at a time when there were over 1,000 cases a day in 125 countries, paralysing and even killing children. Today, the number of cases is down by 99.9%.
Support for Peninsular Schools Feeding Association, South Africa.
Response to emergency disaster relief appeals e.g. Shelter Box.
Micro loans for entrepreneurs in developing countries in association with 'Lend with Care UK'.
Funding for Ukraine - disaster relief and Christmas presents for children.
Tools for Self Reliance e.g. carpentry kits for entrepreneurs in developing countries.
Funds for Mercy Ships (delivering hospital care to those in most need).

The last few weeks of the year are traditionally the busiest time in the club's fundraising calendar with last year being no exception, particularly with its Santa Sleigh outings and attendance at Christmas Lights switch-on events

Rotary delivered some heavyweight gear in the form of a large punch bag together with 30 pairs of boxing gloves to 'KKOTS' (Keeping Kids off the Street) a local non-profit organisation.
