International Service - supporting humanitarian projects worldwide

Our aim is to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, support of education and alleviation of poverty.

Past projects include

since the early 1990's we have undertaken humanitarian works to improve educational facilities in the most rural areas of KwaZulu Natel, South Africa, in association with the Eshowe Rotary Club and with the support of other Rotary clubs in this country and
installed water storage tanks, sanitation, kitchen facilities and provided teaching materials to these schools
control and reduction of diseases worldwide e.g. Polio
support of worldwide charities and good causes e.g. Shelter Box, Aqua Box, Tools for Self Reliance, Peninsular Schools Feeding Association, Vision Aid, Sightsavers
Sand Dams in Africa
support of Rotary International's worldwide charity, Rotary Foundation
support for a school in Gujurat, India
collections for humanitarian aid to Ukraine

We have compiled and published joke books, organised golf days, and even taken to the skies with a number of 'loop-the-loop in a glider' challenges to name but a few of our fundraising efforts for international good causes.

After the rush at our mulled wine stall at 'Stony Lights' Fair

The last few weeks of the year are traditionally the busiest time in the club's fundraising calendar with last year being no exception, particularly with its Santa Sleigh outings and attendance at Christmas Lights switch-on events

Rotary delivered some heavyweight gear in the form of a large punch bag together with 30 pairs of boxing gloves to 'KKOTS' (Keeping Kids off the Street) a local non-profit organisation.
