Raise Money for a Charity or Good Cause
Entering the Santa Fun Run is an opportunity to have fun and help us support West Berkshire Food Bank and other Local Charities. However, you can also help your favoured charity or good cause by raising sponsorship for them - every little helps .
Information Prior to Entering
Please read all the information given before using the registration link at the bottom of this page as this will constitute acceptance of the terms and conditions.
Race Start/End
As mentioned on the Santa Run Featured Page (See page for information) we will stagger the start to avoid bunching at the start gate. First runners starting at 11am. Also a reminder at the race end please collect your medal and move well away from the finish line. We appreciate that friends and family may wish to congratulate you but to avoid congestion we ask that they keep the finish approach and finish line clear.
Protecting Others
By registering you are agreeing to follow the safety rules under which the Santa Fun operates, and you will only take part in the event if you are feeling well and free from COVID symptoms.
General Information
The Closing time for on-line registration is Mid-night on Saturday 2nd Dec or earlier if run capacity is reached.
Santa Suits will be available for collection from the Kennet Leisure Centre each Saturday morning (9am – noon) from Saturday 16th November until 7th Dec.
When collecting suits please bring a copy of your e ticket response as proof of purchase.
You are encouraged to collect your Santa Suits prior to the event to avoid congestion on the day. For registered runners unable to do so: - on the day collection will be available 9:30 am until 10:45am from the Rotary Gazebo on the Broadway Green.
This is a Fun Run which is not timed so is not a race. Runners can run, walk, or a combination of both, the choice is yours. It’s a fun event just enjoy and take care. The route goes through public areas (streets, shopping areas etc.) and the public, bystanders and supporters should be treated with respect and given priority. Be aware, the public will be of all ages - old, young, fit and not so fit, and may have pets in tow.
There will be qualified First Aiders present, but participants are responsible for their own safety, including their fitness to do the event.
In the event that the Santa Fun Run has to be cancelled, all entry fees are non-refundable and will be treated as a charitable donation.
A copy of the Event Safety Plan is available on request from Bob Champion (see contact details at bottom of page)
General Terms and Conditions
Registration this year is solely via the Thatcham Rotary Club Website using the link at the bottom of this page.
Runners Under 18 –
Ages are considered at 8th Dec 2023. Runners under 18 can only compete with the permission of their parent or guardian who are responsible for their safe conduct and behaviour throughout the event. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the event. We recommend that Children under 8 use the shorter route.
Care on the Route
Some of the route is around the Thatcham Lakes. However, much of the route is along pavements with some crossings of roads and driveways are necessary. Although Marshals will be assisting at key points, runners will be crossing or running along live roads at their own risk and must obey the Highway Code. Those who are responsible for Young People (12-17) must ensure that the Young People understand and will abide by these conditions.
If conditions are poor part of the route may be altered to avoid unsafe areas and in doing so may be shortened.
Finally
By entering you are declaring that those being registered by you are medically fit to run, and if any of the party are under 18 they have their parent or legal guardian(s) permission to enter, and all enter entirely at their own risk. The organisers shall not be held responsible for any injury, loss or damage as a consequence of participating in this event
Have an enjoyable day. Please contact Bob Champion (SantaFunRun@thatchamrotary.org.uk) if you have any questions
