St George's Day Dinner

Fri, Apr 22nd 2016 at 7:15 pm - 8:15 pm

with comedian Adger Brown
at the Goring & Streatley Golf Club

Once again our St George's Day Dinner provided a cracking evening. Comedian Adger Brown had us in hysterics - The President suffered an eye infection the following week after crying with laughter during the dinner!

The event raised £2,668 in aid of Launchpad through a raffle and chariity auction. Launchpad is a charity that helps some of Reading's most vulnerable and disadvantaged people to turn their lives around and fulfil their potential. Based in bright premises right in central Reading, they work to provide accomodation, support, education and counselling to people in the town who need their help.

The food is always top notch and the Roast Beef was to die for. Served to the table as joints and carved by our members at the table it adds to novelty of the evening - as does the fancy apron competition. The pictures above give you a good idea!

The evening finished with a 'Last Night of the Proms' style singalong and poetic vote of thanks and farewell from President Mike Baker.
