Rotary club of Stirling meeting of 16th November 2018.
In the absence of president Sandy Farquharson, currently on a charity cycle ride in Nepal, the chair was taken by VP Ranald Ross-Watt. Sandy Leven has ordered 4000 bulbs for us to plant in the containers at Stirling station, and as many hands as possible will be required for this. We have now had two very successful visits to Bannockburn House, and Malcolm Cordwell Smith may arrange a further visit in the Spring.
The house itself is very interesting and the enthusiasm of the volunteers, not to speak of their home baking are both remarkable. PP Stewart Wilson has now despatched all the shoe boxes each containing useful items for those displaced from their homes by flood or war in many parts of the world, and we are especially grateful to the pupils of Riverside primary who managed to fill 100 boxes, a remarkable contribution.
Next meeting 23rd November, Speaker's host Jim Kerr, Visitor's host Mike
Queen.
