President David Paterson welcomed members, together with three visitors. These were District Governor Keith Kerr and his wife Mary and Kerr Wintersgill, guest of Peter Mehta. Ranald Ross-Watt reported problems with the ARION minibus service, whereby the club traditionally provides drivers to take disabled people to the baths at The Peak, every Thursday. This arrangement has been in place for over 7 years, but is currently interrupted, due to the council having removed access to the bus, without warning. Negotiations are ongoing.
The President then introduced District Governor Keith Hopkins, of Kirriemuir club. Keith retired as an accountant last year, giving him more time to concentrate on golf, cricket and the Rotary movement. By co-incidence, the grandfather of his wife Mary was Rotary GB&I (UK Rotary) president in 1946-47, so Rotary is very much in the Hopkins family.
