Speaker Alan Bradshaw, Rotarian visitor Joan Trew from the Downtown Rotary Club, Fort Worth, Texas, President Crawford Gordon.
Stirling Rotary Meeting 24.8.12
President Crawford Gordon welcomed members, along with visiting Rotarian Joan Trew, from Fort Worth, Texas. There will be no meeting this Friday, due to the occurrence of the golf Am-Am. Crawford advised us that the DG Elect was now known to be Jim Houston from Leven. The Fellowship Cup against Carse of Stirling will take place on Sunday, October 7th. and golfers are needed for this. Saturday October 13th. will see the eagerly anticipated club visit to the BBC in Glasgow, maximum numbers being restricted to 25, for manageability. The informal meeting on Friday evening August 17th had proved both successful and convivial and we are invited to Zurich, Switzerland, for a return visit.
Our speaker for the day was recently joined member Alan Bradshaw, who delivered the traditional My Job talk. Alan described himself as a psychologist turned marketer. After a first spell at university, he joined a wine business, organising many events. He then involved himself with social work, particularly in the field of those with learning difficulties as well as ex-offenders.
