Rtn Neil and Doreen Beeton accompanied Global Scholar Ngozi Elobuika to the Rotary Club for Stony Stratford & Wolverton's 60th Anniversary Dinner.


Rotary Global Scholar Ngozi Elobuika was the guest of her Host Councillor, Neil Beeton and wife Doreen, when she attended the 60th Anniversary of the formation of the Rotary Club of Wolverton and Stony Stratford on Saturday, 19th. October. Also in attendance was District Governor Mary Whitehead, and around 70 guests enjoyed a three course meal at the Holiday Inn, Central Milton Keynes followed by a spell of vocal entertainment, in which there was some audience participation.
Ngozi is originally from Nigeria, but is now based in San Francisco where she has lived for the last 11 years. She is one of six Global Scholars currently being hosted by our local Rotary District 1260, which covers parts of Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. Other Global Scholars are from the USA, Switzerland and Japan.

The Club spent a day in Newport Pagnell running their tombola which attracted a great deal of interest and resulted in a very generous donation to Willen Hospice.

Recently we held a BBQ in Olney at the Rugby Club. Ailsa’s Aim, an Olney charity, joined us at the event and we all enjoyed a sunny afternoon with excellent food as well as bar facilities kindly provided by the Rugby Club.
