Speaker was Rtn Mervyn Edwards-

Mervyn delivered a very interesting and stimulating talk about his new book and time as a Police Office with Thames Valley Police.

Walking the Beat to Nirvarna is the title of the book recently written and published by Rtn Mervyn Edwards, a member of the Rotary Club of Chesham.

Mervyn's presentation  was about his more than thirty years as a serving Police Officer in Thames Valley Police. It covered the reasons for writing and publishing the book and some detail about the content. The majority of the book details Mervin's fifteen years as a specialist firearms officer in the Tactical Firearms Team.

Mervyn's presentation was superb and much enjoyed by those present. His  (signed) book was available to purchase  at a price of £10, and was in big demand. Those missing out can buy it at Waterstones Book stores for £12 (unsigned !.)

The meeting was also a memorable evening when President Geoff Simmonds recognised long standing Rotarians Ian Townsend and Colin Kidby by electing them as Honorary Members of Newport Pagnell Rotary.

President Geoff also presented Rtn Nigel Benson a Paul Harris Fellowship award in recognition of his consistent contribution to the Rotary Club and his outstanding youth work within the Beds, Bucks and Herts Rotary District. 1260. Nigel, a member since 2009 has held many posts within the club, having been President, Treasurer, Secretary to name just three.
