July is the beginning of the Rotary year and, like any new year, we make resolutions which, hopefully we fulfil. Last year we were determined to try some different projects to those we had done in the past and we succeeded in doing two. One was a Spring Fayre in May and the other a Summer Concert in June both of which took place in Newport Pagnell town and both generated funds for local charities and attracted many visitors. As well as trying new things, the Club continues to meet its traditional commitments in the area one of which is to support Youth projects. For many years, Rotary as an organisation, both nationally and internationally, has supported such projects. Each year, our Club has been involved locally in organising youth competitions including The Technology Tournament, The Musician of the Year competition, Chef of the Year. We also have a Kids Out day to organise where children from disadvantaged backgrounds are taken for a day out at Whipsnade Zoo. All require resources and we are constantly stretched to find them so that if you at all interested in encouraging future generations, please contact us and come and help support these activities.
