Rotary's International and Musical Connections

On Wednesday 8th August we were pleased to welcome Dr Drago Paušek and his wife at our Club. Drago is a doctor and has been visiting the Newport Pagnell Medical Centre this week. Drago is a member of a Rotary Club in Zagreb, Croatia. The photo shows President-Elect Brian presenting a Newport Pagnell banner to Drago.

On the same evening, we held an informal "Desert Island Discs". Rotarians swapped stories of their favourite pieces of music, and why they were of importance to them. Thanks to the Internet we were able to play all but one of the selected tunes for everyone to enjoy.

Christmas Lights Tombola

The Club spent a day in Newport Pagnell running their tombola which attracted a great deal of interest and resulted in a very generous donation to Willen Hospice.

Recently we held a BBQ in Olney at the Rugby Club. Ailsa’s Aim, an Olney charity, joined us at the event and we all enjoyed a sunny afternoon with excellent food as well as bar facilities kindly provided by the Rugby Club.
