In April 2010, Rotarian Gillian Pearce, a qualified midwife, volunteered through Rotary Doctor Bank to go to Kamuli, Uganda for a month. Gillian wrote movingly of her experiences for "Midwives", the Official Journal of the Royal College of Midwives
Rotary Doctor Bank was started in 1994 by Rotarian David Morgan, Rotary Club of Porthcawl and is now run by 10 volunteers from Rotary International District 1150 Southern Wales.It supports 10-20 volunteer healthcare workers to Mission Hospitals each year.It will provide travel costs to send a doctor
