A talk on St Fracis Hospice

.

The Hospice of St. Francis helps 2000 people every year and needs £6m to run effectively. Whilst £1m comes from the NHS,£5m has to be found from ‘friends’, donations, wills, fundraising events etc. We had three presenters at lunch today, speaking about their role and/or experience with The Hospice of St. Francis. Jackie, Sophie and Heather, each told, from their point of view, of the incredibly positive contribution the Hospice makes to our community and not only to terminally ill patients. They spoke of what a Happy, Comfortable, Professional, Supportive and Positive air surrounds the organisation. They conveyed that not only the spirit of the ‘users’ but that of the support staff is high. President Richard presented our Speakers with the Club's donation to this very worthwhile cause.
