Nearly £8,000 was raised for charity after a fun day at The Gerrards Cross Golf Club where 60 players fought it out for the Amersham Rotary Club's 27th Annual Chiltern Charity Golf Classic Trophy.
A morning 10 hole individual competition gave competitors a chance to limber up for the afternoon's major team event. The morning's winner was Edwin Chiu from Collier and Madge who narrowly beat Mark da Silva of sponsors Barnett Waddingham.
After lunch players took to the course in pairs to compete for the Charity Golf Classic Trophy. Additional on-course competitions throughout the afternoon kept the players on their toes in lovely sunny weather while boosting funds for charity.
A closely fought competition saw the top three teams all finishing with the same score. Sean Stanley and Paul Thomas from Fun Collectables took the Trophy and 1st prize. After dinner a charity auction and raffle helped raise further funds for Whizz-Kidz, Chesham-based Work Aid and other Amersham Rotary Club-supported local charities.
Organiser Allan Childs highlighted the fun nature of the day: "It's a great way to enjoy a day's golf at a premier golf course at the same time knowing you are helping in the local community."
He added: "We are really grateful to have the support of the main sponsor, Amersham-based Barnett Waddingham, and I should also like to thank The Entertainer for their donation. The success of the day, however, is down to the players who take part. Without them the event would not be the success it has been over the last 27 years."
