Today the club enjoyed a presentation by Catherine Sanders who is a sports promoter for a unique individual.

Several weeks ago, after due deliberation, the club decided to take up the opportunity of sponsoring a very talented person in her field.  Although she is only 10 years old, Indu Ragunather, a local Amersham schoolgirl, has already demonstrated superb tennis skills by winning several prestigious tennis competitions.

She is a member of Halton Tennis Centre, where she trains weekly putting in, around her schooling, a 17-hour week of intensive training and coaching.  

Halton, which is now one of the best Tennis centres in the country, are so sure of her ability that they are also sponsoring her, entering her in many tournaments, some of which are international, where she has performed well. So far she has played in 171 competitions.

Most of her fellow competitors at these events are in a much more fortunate position financially and logistically than Indu, having parents who are more affluent or have been connected with the sport themselves for years as players or coaches
