Rotary members deliver Christmas dinners to the elderly in Watton

For some years Jacob Weatherill of Florentina Catering in Watton has, at his own expense, prepared Christmas meals for (mostly elderly) housebound individuals and couples in Watton, who would struggle to prepare such meals for themselves.

Suitable recipients for these meals, delivered free to the recipients' homes, are provided by a number of local organisations, including St Mary's parish church, the British Legion and Margot Hornsay.

Each recipient receives a full pre-cooked Christmas lunch, which simply needs to be warmed up when required. Additionally, thanks to the generosity of Watton Bakers, a mince pie is  included with each meal package.

Two days before Christmas, the meals were delivered to the homes of recipients by members and friends of Watton Rotary Club.

Jacob is commended for his extreme generosity in providing these meals at his own expense, which Rotary members have been delighted to deliver to local residents, providing much-needed cheer on Christmas Day.
