In July, Watton Rotary members helped out at the Crucial Crew Event, organised by Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service held every year at City College Norwich.
Crucial Crew is designed to support Year 6 children in their final year at Junior School, by providing a number of safety advice sessions prior to them moving on to secondary school. This is achieved through a series of short interactive presentations, held on the same day, using experts from several partner organisations, such as RNLI, St John Ambulance, Police and Cadent Gas.
These workshops have been popular with local schools for many years, because children have a positive experience, and go back to their schools and homes with increased knowledge about potential dangers around them, whether that is at the coast, on our roads, or on the internet.
Rotary Club members help by assisting groups of children and their teachers to move smoothly between different rooms.
